Happiness and Success after Foreclosure

"Whatever is expressed is impressed. Whatever you say to yourself, with emotion, generates thoughts, ideas and behaviors consistent with those words"
- Brian Tracy

Embrace a Positive Attitude

Regardless of your circumstances remember that a positive attitude can help you see clearly the choices that you have, and leave you open to new opportunities.

A foreclosure is "closure." Once the process is completed, you no longer have the stress of delinquent mortgage payments. That huge problem is now behind you.

If you are not subject to a deficiency judgment, more of your income is available to for living expenses and for paying down other debts. A load has been lifted off your shoulders.

A Foreclosure is Not Personal

The lender is making a business decision that is driven by investor expectations. The lender foreclosed on your house because it is their job and they probably do feel badly for you.

A positive attitude can help you move through the process. It’s up to you to make the next phase of your life a success.

Your Past is Over

Your happiness is not about what happens to you, but how you choose to respond to what happens.

If you allow negative moods to dominate, your thoughts will be negative and insecure.

The present is where life is lived. The more time you spend with past-oriented thinking or fretting about the future, the farther from the moment you are carried.

Regardless of what has happened to you, or what you fear may happen to you in the future, the is where you must make it happen.

Your past is over. It is a memory carried through time through your own thinking. It is real in the moment it occurred, but it no longer is. When you forget it, it’s gone.

Things turn out best for the people who make the best of the way things turn out.

Once you process the pain of foreclosure, do not look back. Let it go. Review the mistakes you made that got you where you are. Learn from what happened and vow never to let it happen again.
